Quote: “Most Asian American timelines focus only on events related to people who arrived in the United States from Asia. However, that approach paints a misleading picture. It implies that Asian American experiences can be understood in the absence of a broader context of race and capitalism, that the history of a given population can somehow be placed outside the systems of power that organize society.”

Several reviews on “American Born Chinese, a new Disney+ TV show, were published on the media this week. Graphic novel American Born Chinese was written by Gene Luen Yang in 2006, which is based on his adolescent years in the early ’90s, about the difficulties of being Asian in America.

One out of five Asian Americans hide their ethnic heritage such as ethnic food or clothing as well as cultural and religious practices, the Pew Research Center said in the report released Monday. Pew Research Center conducted this analysis to understand the rich diversity of people of Asian origin or ancestry living in the United States and their views of identity.
