Casa de las Américas at LaGuardia Community College (https://www.laguardia.edu/casa/) is hosting a book signing event by Bushra Rehman, a Pakistani-American author who grew up in Corona, Queens, at Room E-111 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Friday, June 2, 2023.

Bushra Rehman is the author of the novel Roses, in the Mouth of a Lion, an unforgettable story about female friendship and queer love in a Muslim-American community in Queens. Rehman is also the co-editor of Colonize This! Young Women of Color on Today’s Feminism.

Students who attend the event on Friday will get a free copy of the book.

This author’s visit is part of La Casa’s PRIDE celebration, in collaboration with the LaGuardia Wagner Archives, the Office of the Mayor, the New York City LGBTQIA Caucus, and the CUNY LGBTQIA+ Consortium.
